Iranian Regime's Redemptive Antisemitism

 

Prof. Litvak gives the answer to the question which is not often even asked - WHY does the Iranian regime want to destroy Israel and the Jews? The answer -  redemptive antisemitism.

Israel today is the only country in Western civilization whose people are willing to fight when crucial vital interests are at stake. 

I think we are in trouble not only as Israelis, I think the Western civilization is in trouble because what we’ve proven now, what Donald Trump proved now is that nobody in the Western world is willing to fight. It is not only the Europeans that are not willing to fight. He recognizes that the American people are not willing to fight for something that is absolutely crucial. Because if the barbarians, not just in Iran, in Lebanon and in Gaza, but barbarians all over the world, this has implications to North Korea, to Taiwan, to what may happen in Gibraltar, in the Malacca Straits,in the Panama Canal and so on. If we, primarily the Americans led Free World cannot defend its very basic interest. If we need to get the permission of countries like Iran in order to use international waterways then we are in very deep trouble.

I think the Trump administration never explained well what is really at stake here. The real question is - what are the measures the US and Israel should be justified in applying in order to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons? The 440kg of enriched uranium which is buried will present a danger to humankind until it is either destroyed or extricated from Iran’s grasp. Why is this issue more important than all the others? Because if the Iranian mullahs get the bomb they could use it regardless of the consequences for Iran. For years politicians and media in the West refused to touch this topic. Middle East historian and scholar of Islam Bernard Lewis kept warning and was ignored. He kept repeating: “ For people with this mindset, Mutually Assured Destruction (M.A.D.) is not a constraint; it is an inducement…”. Well, we have finally reached the point when we are forced to explain what we are ready to do in order to prevent a nuclear war.
